LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI wrestling team released its 2023-24 schedule Thursday, with six home dates on the slate.

The Keydets open the campaign Nov. 4 at the Southeast Open in Salem, Va. and follow Nov. 12 with a quad match at Navy with Pittsburgh and Morgan State. The first home date is set for Sunday, Nov. 19 against Marymount and Limestone Universities in a tri-match in Cormack Hall.

VMI is on the road for all of December, including competing at the Soldier Salute in Coralville, Iowa Dec. 29-30 for the second-straight year.

Southern Conference action begins Jan. 21 with a home match with Chattanooga, followed Jan. 28 at The Citadel. The SoCon Championships are set for March 9 in Boone, N.C. and the NCAA Championships are March 21-23 in Kansas City, Mo.

"Our anticipation for the 2023-2024 season is very high," said head coach Jim Gibson.  "We return three guys that have previously placed at the SoCon Championships, and this group has high individual and team expectations.  Our cadets will be tested during the first half of the season. Pittsburgh and Navy have been perennial top 30 teams and we return to the competitive Soldier Salute in December. I'm confident that this year's schedule will have our cadets prepared for the post season."
