VMI Takes on Wofford for Senior Night

LEXINGTON, Va
. – Entering the final week of the 2022-23 regular season, the VMI basketball team will take on Wofford College Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Cameron Hall.
 
The league matchup is the third of three consecutive home games for the Keydets, who look to pick up their second conference victory of the season and first on its home court. As the final home game of the season, it also marks Senior Night for cadet-athletes Sean Conway, Louis Tang and Sam Wolfe, who will be recognized before tipoff.

About Wofford
Wofford has won its last two games, 70-67 against Mercer and 72-68 at The Citadel. The Terriers are now 15-14 overall and 7-9 in the SoCon. Senior B.J. Mack paces the team with 16.4 points and 5.4 rebounds a game, ranking third in the league in scoring. Jackson Paveletzke scores 14.7 points a game and is third in the league with 3.9 assists per game. Mack scored 22 points in the Terriers' win against Mercer and followed up with 16 points and six rebounds against The Citadel.

Starting five freshmen - the first Division I team to do so in the 2022-23 campaign - the young VMI basketball team fell by a 96-61 score to visiting SoCon leader Samford Saturday afternoon at Cameron Hall. VMI (6-23, 1-15) played without the services of senior captain Sean Conway, who went down with an injury in Wednesday night's contest with Chattanooga.
The Bulldogs (20-9, 14-2), entering the game as the top team in the league, revealed it offensive prowess by converting a blistering 60 percent of its three-point attempts by knocking down 21 of 35 from beyond the arc. Former Keydet Bubba Parham logged a team-high 19 points by hitting five of six from downtown.

Despite 20 points each from senior Sean Conway and freshman Asher Woods, the VMI men's basketball team fell 86-67 at Wofford College on January 14, 2023, in Southern Conference play from Richardson Indoor Stadium.
The Keydets trailed just 46-40 with 16 minutes left after a layup from Tony Felder, Jr. The Terriers soon opened a double-digit lead and extended the advantage in the closing minutes.
