Presbyterian rallies late for win over VMI

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI men's basketball team led by eight points with just over six minutes left to play, but Presbyterian College rallied for a 75-71 win Saturday afternoon in non-conference action from Cameron Hall.

Presbyterian led 36-32 at intermission but VMI opened the second half with an 18-7 run to go ahead 50-43 with 14:45 on the game clock. Junior guard Brennan Watkins drilled two three pointers during the stretch. The Keydets held a 62-54 lead with 6:14 left but the Blue Hose closed out the game with a 21-9 surge.

VMI Head Coach Andrew Wilson
"I was very proud of our effort today. We played with aggression & togetherness. We played well enough to win but credit to PC for making the plays down the stretch to close the game out. We must learn from this experience and continue to grow as a team."
