RADFORD, Va. – Freshman guard Tyran Cook tied his career high with 20 points, but the Radford University men's basketball team defeated VMI 73-56 Tuesday night in a non-conference game.
Cook hit four three pointers and his point total was also a game high. Senior center DJ Nussbaum tied his career best with 14 points and he grabbed four rebounds.
How it happened:
*Radford held a 21-13 lead at the 11-minute mark of the first half. The Keydets fought back with a 10-1 run, capped by a Cook three-pointer, to take a 23-22 edge
*The Highlanders led 39-30 at intermission and opened the second half with a 14-4 surge
Inside the box score:
*Koree Cotton scored 11 points
*Taeshaud Jackson II grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds, including seven on the offensive end
*Devin Butler had six points and five rebounds
*Stephen Olowoniyi had four points and seven boards
*DaQuan Smith scored 19 points for Radford (7-4)
