LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI men's and women's swimming and diving teams open the 2023-24 season Saturday at home against Davidson College at noon. It will be the first varsity swimming competition in Goodall Pool inside the new VMI Aquatics Center, dedicated this spring.

"We have really been looking forward to our first competition in the new aquatic center and getting our season kicked off in Goodall Pool," said head coach Scott Thacker. "We had a great intrasquad meet and are looking to carry that momentum into Saturday when we welcome Davidson. The team has been training with intensity, focus and great energy. This will be a great test and I am excited to watch the team perform."

This is the third meet of the season for the Davidson men (0-2), having faced Queens University of Charlotte and George Mason University. The Wildcat women's team is 1-2.

Both Keydet teams traveled to Davidson in late January in the 2022-23 season.
