LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI wrestling team closes out the 2021-22 regular season Sunday, traveling to Southern Conference rival The Citadel at 3 p.m.

The Keydets defeated The Citadel 27-18 in 2021 for their fourth-straight win over the Bulldogs. Luke Fegley, Blake Showers  Zach Brown and Tyler Mousaw all recorded pins in action from Cormack Hall. Job Chishko earned a 5-3 victory at 149.  

Mousaw, a sophomore 197 pounder, has an 11-7 record overall this year with four pins and 3-2 in SoCon matches. Showers, also a sophomore, is 6-6 overall and 3-3 in the conference at 157 and 165. He also has pinned four opponents this year. Seth Fillers and Jon Hoover each also have three wins in the Southern Conference.

VMI will compete at the 2022 Southern Conference Championship Meet Saturday, March 5 at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C.
