VMI Hosts Radford in Lace Up 4 Cancer Game

LEXINGTON, Va. – Riding a two-game win streak, the VMI basketball team looks to continue the momentum as the Keydets play host to Radford University Saturday at 1 p.m. at Cameron Hall.
 
The game is being sponsored by the Go4TheGoal Foundation as coaches from both squads will don sneakers and gold laces to Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer. QR code signs have been placed around Cameron Hall for fans to offer donations to support the cause.

VMI is coming off a dominant 106-67 win over Carlow University Wednesday night as junior Devin Butler led the way with a career-high 25 pointers including a career-best seven threes and five steals. Senior Sean Conway logged 22 points in just the first half and recorded his eighth career double-double by grabbing 12 rebounds. Freshmen Asher Woods and Tyler Houser scored 18 and 14 points, respectively, and Rickey Bradley, Jr., nearly logged a double-double with a career-high 10 assists and eight rebounds.

About the Highlanders
Radford has had a nearly week off from varsity competition to prepare for the Keydets. An 86-76 win over visiting George Washington University Sunday pushed the Highlanders to 6-3 on the year and was their third-straight victory.  

Josiah Jeffers averages 11.4 points a game and also leads the team with 45 assists. Kenyon Giles and DaQuan Smith each score 11.2 points per outing and Shaquan Jules paces the team with 6.3 rebounds a game and nine blocked shots while shooting over 67 percent from the floor.  
 
All-Time Series
As former Big South foes, Radford leads the all-time series by just one game at 22-21. The Highlanders have won two in a row and registered a 63-50 win in the last battle on December 2, 2017, at Cameron Hall.
