Keydets Begin Three-Game Road Swing at American

LEXINGTON, Va. – Going on three consecutive wins, the VMI basketball will seek a fourth straight victory overall and third in a row against Division I competition when the Keydets (5-6, 0-0) take on American University Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at Bender Arena in Washington, D.C.

VMI is coming off a thrilling 77-74 win over Radford last Saturday at Cameron Hall where five VMI starters scored in double figures, including a game-high 23 points from senior Sean Conway. Tony Felder, Jr., and Asher Woods both scored 16 apiece, and Rickey Bradley, Jr. logged a season-high 10 points. Fellow freshman Tyler Houser also made a considerable mark with 14 points and a season-high nine rebounds.

The Eagles won their seventh straight contest Saturday, defeating George Washington, 69-64. The Eagles now stand at 7-2 and have not lost a game since Nov. 13 at George Mason. With the win, American is off to its best start since 2011. That year, the program dropped its first two games of the season before going on to win eight straight.
 
Matt Rogers leads American in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.0 points and 5.9 boards per outing. Johnny O'Neil scores 12.6 points a game and Geoff Sprouse is scoring at an 11.3 clip.
