Keydets Travel to Davidson Sunday

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI men's basketball team will face a tough test Sunday in a road matchup at Davidson College at 2 p.m.

The Keydets: 
*VMI rolled to a 100-58 victory over Penn State New Kensington Thursday evening in the Keydets 2022-23 home opener. It was the first victory for new head mentor Andrew Wilson as the head coach at VMI.
*Freshmen guards Asher Woods (22) and Tony Felder, Jr. (20) each broke the 20-point barrier and posted career-high point totals.
*Felder, Jr. added seven assists, five rebounds and two steals
*Woods' 22 points were a game-high and he also had six rebounds and four assists. He leads the team with 15 points a game thus far
*Junior Devin Butler drilled five three pointers for a career-high 15 points to go with five rebounds
*Taeshaud Jackson II posted 15 points and six rebounds

The Wildcats
*Davidson enters 2-0 on the young season following a 102-97 come-from-behind double-overtime victory at Wright State Wednesday evening
*Foster Loyer narrowly missed a triple-double with 38 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists
*Through two games, Loyer is averaging 34.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game, while shooting 52.9 percent from the floor and drilling 11-of-20 3-pointers
*The frontcourt duo of Sam Mennenga (13.5) and Reed Bailey (12.5) are also averaging double figures for the Wildcats.
