LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI wrestling team has a busy weekend upcoming, hosting Bellarmine University Friday at 7:30 p.m. before traveling to Campbell University for two matches Sunday. The Keydets will face Presbyterian University at 1 p.m. Sunday in a match originally scheduled for Jan. 16, and Campbell at 2:30 p.m.

The VMI wrestling team faced tough competition last Friday at the Appalachian State tri match, falling 33-7 to Little Rock and 42-0 to the host school in a Southern Conference match.

Junior Zach Brown scored an 8-0 major decision victory at 184 pounds against Little Rock, and sophomore Isaac Dolph followed with a 13-6 decision at 197 pounds. Jon Hoover hung tough but lost 4-1 at 174 pounds, Freddy Junko dropped a 7-3 decision at 141 pounds and Josh Evans was defeated just 4-0 at 285.

VMI defeated Bellarmine 37-9 last winter, fell to Campbell 39-0 and the scheduled match against Presbyterian was cancelled.

The Keydets are off until Friday, Feb. 11, when they host Davidson College at 7:30 p.m. in Cormack Hall.
