LEXINGTON, Va. – The George Mason University wrestling team defeated VMI 31-8 Friday night from Cormack Hall in a non-conference match.

Keydet junior Zach Brown scored a quick victory at 184 pounds, defeating Kyle Davis by technical fall 16-1 in just 3:31. Sophomore Tyler Mousaw outlasted his opponent 5-3 at 197 pounds and freshman Josh Evans scored a takedown with just three seconds left in the match to force an overtime sudden victory session, but fell 8-6. Sophomore Blake Showers suffered a narrow 5-4 defeat at 157 pounds.

VMI will host Gardner-Webb University Thursday at 7 p.m. in a match rescheduled from January 8.
