Curfman Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

LEXINGTON, Va. – One of the team leaders on the court, VMI basketball sophomore Kamdyn Curfman also performed well in the classroom and was recognized for his efforts by being named Thursday to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team – District 3.
 
The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late May.
 
The North Bethesda, Maryland, native owns a 3.93 GPA as a psychology major and is also one of the top scoring threats in the Southern Conference. Curfman ranks third overall in three-point percentage at 40.7 percent and is 16th overall in points per game at 12.7. His 2.8 three-pointers per game average ranks fourth overall in the conference and his 34.1 minutes per game average ranked sixth in the final SoCon standings. Curfman finished the season by scoring in double figures seven of the last eight games.
