Men’s Soccer Hosts UNCG Tuesday

LEXINGTON, Va. – Looking for their first Southern Conference win of the season, the VMI men's soccer team will host the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. on Patchin Field.

The Keydets (2-5, 0-2) fell 3-1 to visiting Mercer University on Saturday after taking a quick 1-0 lead in the first half. Senior Richard Quispe scored his first goal of the season off an inside cross from sophomore Peter Sepulveda, his second assist of the season.
 
Sophomore Nathan Lam leads the Keydets with three goals. Junior goalie Broden Schull has 43 saves on the season.

The Spartans (4-2-1, 0-1-1 SoCon) are coming off an overtime loss to Furman on Saturday 3-2. UNCG is led in goals by Fernando Garcia and Mani Austmann each with three on the season. Niclas Wild has handled goalkeeping duties the last four games tallying 11 saves.
