Sunday's game will be the season opener for VMI. Originally the Keydets were to open the year Wednesday at Southern Virginia University, but that game was postponed and will now be played this Wednesday, Feb. 16 at SVU at 7 p.m.
The two teams had a tightly fought contest in 2019 in Lexington, with the Runnin' Bulldogs rallying for a 2-1 win.
Brandon Hornung found the back of the net just 3:30 before halftime.
Nathan Lam provided the assist and the Keydets took a 1-0 lead into intermission. VMI held onto the one-goal lead until 12 minutes were left in the game.
