VMI Wrestling Hits Road for Three SoCon Matches

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI wrestling team has a busy weekend ahead, hitting the road for three Southern Conference matches. The Keydets head to South Carolina Saturday to face The Citadel (noon) and Presbyterian College (6 p.m.) and North Carolina Sunday to battle Appalachian State University (3 p.m.).

Red-shirt senior Neal Richards won two matches last weekend at 174 pounds against Gardner-Webb and Campbell Universities for his 13^th-straight victory. Noah Roulo scored a tough win Saturday against CU and Seth Fillers, Will Lawrence and Zach Brown were victorious against GWU.

VMI defeated The Citadel last season 23-22 in the final regular-season match of the 2019 season in Cormack Hall. Max Gallahan scored a big win at 184 pounds.

This weekend's competitions are the final dual matches of the 2019-20 season. The SoCon Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, March 8 at Appalachian State University.
