VMI Wrestling to Battle UVA and Chattanooga this weekend

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI wrestling team will travel to the University of Virginia Saturday and host the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Sunday in a busy weekend for the Keydets. The match in Charlottesville Saturday is set for 1 p.m., while Sunday's Southern Conference dual with the Mocs starts at noon.

Cliff Conway, Will Lawrence and Neal Richards all won their matches Sunday at Sacred Heart University, but VMI fell 30-9. Conway defeated his opponent 5-0 at 133 pounds and Lawrence won 6-3 at 157. Richards had a 5-1 victory at 174 pounds.

UVA defeated VMI last season 40-5 and Chattanooga scored a 32-8 win over the Keydets. Richards won both of his matches by technical fall, and Max Gallahan defeated his opponent from Chattanooga at 184 pounds.

The Keydets will compete next Saturday at the All-Academy Championships, hosted by the Air Force Academy (Colo.).
