Richards Streak Continues, but UVA wins 40-5
LEXINGTON, Va. – Junior red-shirt Neal Richards won his 11th-consecutive match Friday night, but The University of Virginia defeated VMI 40-5 in non-conference action from Cormack Hall.
Richards earned a technical fall at 174 pounds, defeating Drew Peck 19-4 in 5:44. The reigning Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week runs his record to 18-3 this winter.
Dom Gallo battled his Virginia opponent Sam Krivus for all seven minutes, coming up just short 6-4. Tre Momon trailed by just two points at 285 until the closing seconds, falling 7-3.
The Keydets travel to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Sunday for a Southern Conference match at 2 p.m.
