VMI Basketball thrashed at Davidson, 84-49

DAVIDSON, N.C. - VMI wrapped up its final Southern Conference regular season in dismal fashion as Davidson whipped the Keydets, 84-49, Saturday night at Belk Arena.

The Wildcats placed four in double figures scoring and were led by Conor Grace with 21 points and 14 rebounds.Michel Lusakueno added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

VMI's Radee Skipworth was the lone Keydet in double figures scoring with 23 points.

A 20-0 run by the Wildcats blew open the game in the second half as the Keydets went nearly six minutes without a point. The Keydets shot just 31.5% from the field for the game and were outrebounded, 50-23.

Davidson (17-9, 11-5) hit 12 of 27 three-pointers and hit 51% from the field.

The Wildcats scored the last seven points of the first half to take a 33-22 lead at the break, and opened the second half on a 21-8 run to put the game out of reach. The Wildcats hit eight of their first 10 shots of the second half and shot 58% from the field in the second half.

VMI (8-19, 3-13) plays Furman in the opening round of the Southern Conference Wednesday at 6:00 in N. Charleston, S.C
