Davidson, N.C. -- The VMI swimming and diving team was defeated by Davidson, 164-57 on Saturday afternoon at Cannon Pool.

Five Keydets finished as high as second place in various events.

Freshman Shaun Jones (Miamisburg, Ohio/ Miamisburg) placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle event in time of 14:56.10.

Junior Adam Sheldon (Glen Allen, Va./ Hermitage) took the silver medal in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.09 seconds.

Junior diver Brent Banks (Annandale, Va./ W.T. Woodson) came in second in the one-meter boards with a score of 139.13.

Fellow freshman Ken Rhee (Northridge, Calif./ John F. Kennedy) placed second in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 50.54 seconds.

Sophomore James Driggs (Mechanicsville, Va./ Atlee) took second in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 58.98 seconds.

VMI will swim at College of Charleston on Sunday at 2 p.m.
