The VMI-Stony Brook football game slated for this 6 p.m. Saturday at LaValle Stadium on the Stony Brook campus on Long Island, New York will be played as originally scheduled.

Plans to go ahead with the game were forged after officials from both schools and the Big South Conference conducted a conference call Wednesday afternoon to discuss logistical and travel concerns caused from damage incurred to the Long Island region from Hurricane Sandy earlier this week. The consensus was the game will go forward as originally planned and efforts are now being worked out to get the VMI football team to Long Island in the least disruptive manner for Saturday evening's kickoff.

The game will be carried live on the VMI Football Radio Network with the pregame show set for 5:30 with live streaming audio available at www.wrel.com as well as vmikeydets.com.
